Stanley Elementary School in Stanley is home of the North Dakota Fuel Up to Play 60 Program Advisor of the Year. Elonda Davidson is a physical education teacher and has been an inspiration and motivator to her students to get involved in numerous Fuel Up to Play 60 projects. During the 2010-2011 school year Mrs. Davidson received Fuel Up to Play 60 grant funding from Midwest Dairy Council to start a “Pedometer Power Morning Walk” and to fund a Nutrition Poster Contest, a Got Milk Contest and a Fuel Up and Kidz Get Fit Health Fair. In an interview with Mrs. Davidson she said, “I believe by promoting healthy eating and exercise, students are becoming more aware of the importance of and the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.” She’s a shining example of how your dairy checkoff dollars help great teachers promote healthy eating and physical activity by activating the Fuel Up to Play 60 program.
