Twelve adult leaders from across the Midwest have been named Fuel Up to Play 60 Program Advisors of the Year. Fuel Up to Play 60 is an in-school nutrition and physical activity program created in partnership with Midwest Dairy Council and the NFL, in collaboration with USDA.
Thanks to the support of hundreds of South Dakotans, dairy farm families presented Feeding South Dakota with a donation of more than $12,500 at a benefit concert on March 26. Dairy farmers invited the public to "Be Our Guest" at a Phil Vassar concert at the annual Central Plains Dairy Expo for a $10 donation to Feeding South Dakota. Donations will be used to purchase dairy foods to stock food banks across the state.

Audrey Souza, Milbank, is South Dakota’s newest State Dairy Princess. She was crowned tonight (Wed., March 27) in Sioux Falls during the Central Plains Dairy Expo. Souza is the 58th woman to wear the crown.

Earl Bennett (#80), a wide receiver for the Chicago Bears, will share his tips for eating healthy and staying active with students and staff at Timber Ridge Middle School (Plainfield CCSD 202) on Wednesday, March 20 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at 2101 Bronk Rd. in Plainfield, and at Gregory Math & Science Elementary Academy (City of Chicago SD 299) on Thursday, March 21 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at 3715 W. Polk St. in Chicago – East Garfield Park.

Local dairy farm families are again inviting people to join them at a special performance by a nationally-known country music artist to help provide nutritious dairy foods to South Dakotans in need.
