Five Vie for North Dakota Dairy Princess « Back
View PDFPrintEmail FriendBISMARCK, N.D. – North Dakota’s 65th State Dairy Princess will be crowned in Bismarck the afternoon of Thursday, June 23. Five candidates are seeking the current title to replace Heidi Hintz, Flasher, N.D., who has served the dairy industry for the past year.
A coronation luncheon is scheduled at noon at the Best Western Ramkota Hotel in Bismarck. Judging takes place just prior to the coronation. Candidates are judged on general dairy knowledge and enthusiasm for the industry, communications skills and ability to share their passion for dairy with consumer audiences. A celebration with past princesses will be held from 1:30-3 p.m.
The five candidates are:
- Naomi Mosset, Strasburg, daughter of Gary and Jewel Mosset;
- Reynel Ann Himmelspach, Glen Ullin, daughter of Delbert and Anna Himmelspach;
- Amy Noel, Linton, daughter of Albert J. and Lisa Noel;
- Courtney Rieder, Towner, daughter of Martin Rieder and Yvonne Hagen; and
- Rachael Rott, Anamoose, daughter of Jim and Kimberlee Rott.
The new princess receives a scholarship from the Midwest Dairy Association. A scholarship is also awarded to the runner-up.
Throughout the year, the North Dakota Dairy Princess assists with promotion of dairy products, particularly with young children, and on-farm events. The Dairy Princess program is sponsored by Midwest Dairy Association through the dairy checkoff.
