Princess Kay of the Milky Way
The young woman who serves as Minnesota's state dairy princess wears the title of Princess Kay of the Milky Way, a name selected in a Department of Agriculture contest over fifty years ago. Princess Kay is crowned each August the night before the opening of the Minnesota State Fair, and she makes appearances not only during the Fair's 12-day run, but all year long.

The 12th Annual Dairy Princess Workshop & Princess Kay Finalist Selection will be held Friday, May 18, through Sunday, May 20, 2012 at the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, MN.

Dairy Princesses Gather in St. Joseph for Weekend Retreat
Dairy princesses from across Minnesota will gather at the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph May 18-20, and at the weekend’s conclusion, 12 of them will become finalists for the 59th Princess Kay of the Milky Way.
Minnesota Dairy Industry Crowns 58th Princess Kay of the Milky Way
Mary Zahurones (Zah-RO-nus), an 18-year-old college student from Pierz, was crowned the 58th Princess Kay of the Milky Way in an evening ceremony at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds August 24.
Princess Kay Coronation Set for August 24
"And the 58th Princess Kay of the Milky Way is..." This year's Minnesota State Fair kicks off with the coronation of Princess Kay of the Milky Way on Wednesday evening, August 24, when reigning Princess Kay Katie Miron of Hugo, representing Washington County, will pass the crown on to one of 12 county dairy princesses vying for the title.Contact
