Nebraska Highlights

February 2012 Highlights

Fifty-three Nebraska schools were awarded funding from Midwest Dairy Association in the latest round of applications, totaling $179,459. These latest allocations mean that 65 Nebraska schools have received $228,209 since June.

December 2011 Highlights

Midwest Dairy Council Health and Wellness team members are busy reviewing Fuel Up to Play 60 funding applications. To date, 42 Nebraska schools are in the process of applying for funding, and funds will be awarded to the strongest applications that were received by the December 1 deadline.

September 2011 Highlights

Our Nebraska Governor, Dave Heineman, was the first Governor in the nation to pledge his support to Fuel Up to Play 60. On Sept. 12, The Governor joined Nebraska dairy industry representatives, Nebraska’s chief medical officer, Dr. Joann Schaefer, and other state representatives in Lincoln to point out the importance of the program in helping children eat right and be physically active every day.
