The NFL Alumni Association, Midwest Dairy Council and Lamar Elementary School Salute Arkansas’ 2012 Fuel Up to Play 60 Program Advisor of the Year! 

Michele Brown, Physical Education Teacher at Lamar Elementary School in Lamar, AR has been named Arkansas' Program Advisor of the Year! Arkansas is part of the Fuel Up to Play 60 Program, taking an active leadership role in encouraging students to get active, eat healthy and make a difference.

Arkansas Pledges Committment to Fuel Up to Play 60 Program

Today, Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe and First Lady Ginger Beebe pledged their support to the Fuel Up to Play 60 program, an in-school health and wellness program that encourages youth to consume nutrient-rich foods and achieve 60 minutes of physical activity every day. The Governor and First Lady joined students from Weiner High School in Weiner, Ark., Arkansas dairy farmers and members of Midwest Dairy Council to sign the symbolic pledge.

Midwest Dairy Awards Ozarks Division Scholarships

Midwest Dairy Association has announced the six Ozarks Division winners of the Midwest Dairy Educational Award, a $500 scholarship for college expenses.

May 2012 Highlights

The Fuel Up to Play 60 Program Advisor of the Year for Arkansas has been selected! Michele Brown, a P.E. teacher at Lamar Elementary School in Lamar, will be rewarded for her hard work and dedication to bringing Fuel Up to Play 60 to students in her school.

April 2012 Highlights

On March 5, Weiner High School in Weiner received its Fuel Up to Play 60 reward from Midwest Dairy for the “Back to School Back to Football” challenge. Buffalo Bills starting strong safety George Wilson, who played football at the University of Arkansas, visited the school. We were excited that three newspapers and one local TV station covered the event.

March 2012 Highlights

Midwest Dairy has secured a commitment from the Arkansas Department of Human Services summer feeding director, Buster Lackey, allowing Midwest Dairy to distribute toolkits to 10 different summer feeding sites across Arkansas this summer. Toolkits will include items like flyers, yard signs, coolers for milk and fun incentives.
