We have a new Health and Wellness staff member serving southern Illinois and the St. Louis area. Laura Frese comes to Midwest Dairy from Hy-Vee in Quincy, where she was the store’s registered dietitian, doing product promotions, nutrition counseling, media and community outreach.

Midwest Dairy's partnership with the St. Louis Rams paved the way for a Fuel Up to Play 60 MVP Clinic on December 6 attended by more than 100 students from four schools chosen for their involvement in the program. Students listened to healthy eating and exercising advice from the Rams' team nutritionist, participated in running, catching and throwing drills administered by Rams staff including player Chris Long, and engaged in HOPSports activities.

The Illinois School Nutrition Association board has pledged its support to the guiding principles of Fuel Up to Play 60, to help end childhood obesity within a generation, which includes empowering youth to take action to develop pathways to better fitness and nutrition for life.
