Scholarships Offered to Students from Dairy Farm Families

Students from dairy farm families in Nebraska who contribute to Midwest Dairy Association through the dairy checkoff are eligible to apply for scholarships offered by the organization.

Falls City Woman Crowned Nebraska Dairy Princess

Jessica Yoesel (pronounced YO zul), 19, of Falls City, was crowned Nebraska State Dairy Princess at the close of activities at the Nebraska State Dairy Convention.

May 2013 Highlights

More than 20 registered dietitians in Nebraska have been submitting a monthly scorecard detailing their Fuel Up to Play 60 activities during the past year. The work is a result of our partnership with the Nebraska Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Four of them, and their schools, were recognized for their accomplishments and involvement in the program recently.

February 2013 Highlights

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Tony Moeaki has filmed seven videos to utilize in schools in support of Fuel Up to Play 60. The videos offer a fun way for the NFL player to encourage students to become engaged in the program in their schools. Much of the video content focuses on the importance of breakfast. Moeaki also wanted to send a video “thank you” to dairy producers for their support of Fuel Up to Play 60.

January 2013 Highlights

The University of Nebraska - Lincoln Nutrition Science Department has invited Beth to be a panelist at the annual Food and Nutrition Update Conference. Beth will discuss Fuel Up to Play 60 and its impact on child nutrition and activity in Nebraska.

The Nebraska Dairy Princess represents both the dairy producers and the dairy industry through meetings, demonstrations, promotions, talks, radio and television interviews, passing out trophies and ribbons, school presentations, and parades.
