June 2012 Highlights
Midwest Dairy Council partnered with Motivation for Physical Activity students at University of Nebraska Omaha to work with schools on implementing Fuel Up to Play 60. Teams of undergraduate students and graduate students worked with 21 schools in the Omaha area, meeting with school wellness champions and helping them complete the School Wellness Investigation as well as helping complete the funding application to implement Fuel Up to Play 60 in the fall.
May 2012 Highlights
Midwest Dairy Council had a noticeable presence at the Nebraska Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Annual Conference April 11-13. Dr. Debra Sullivan, PhD and registered dietitian, along with dairy producer Dan Rice, and Linda Maly, a teacher from St. John Nepomucene in Weston, presented to more than 100 Nebraska-based dietitians about Fuel Up to Play 60 and the impact it has had in Nebraska and nationwide.
April 2012 Highlights
Midwest Dairy hosted 26 Nebraska schools at Memorial Stadium March 15 to celebrate their success with Fuel Up to Play 60. This reward celebration included an opening welcome and inspirational message from Tom Osborne congratulating the schools on their accomplishments and encouraging students to practice a healthy lifestyle and do well in school.
