Dairy Farm Mom Network (DFMN): Workshop and Retreat
Promoting Dairy, One Mom at a Time
The Dairy Farm Mom Network (DFMN) is a group of Midwest-region dairy moms who promote the dairy industry by sharing their unique farm family experiences with consumer moms. Members use social networks such as Facebook and Twitter to connect with consumers, especially moms, about life on a dairy farm.
Midwest Dairy Association
As DFMN organizers, Midwest Dairy provides tools, tips and training to help members more effectively deliver positive and consistent dairy messages. Members can access an online toolkit offering everything from tips for starting a blog and launching a Facebook or Twitter account to season-specific story ideas.
Why A Network?
Every day, moms are having online conversations about their lives. Moms are on Facebook, Twitter and blogs discussing what to serve for dinner, new products that make life simpler, family vacations and more. Dairy farm moms can join these conversations in an authentic manner to promote and defend the dairy industry. And when farm mom voices join together in a network, they have a stronger impact. DFMN members establish their own networks of fans and followers by sharing personal stories that entertain and educate. Additionally, experienced members also serve as peer coaches, helping other farm moms identify dairy friends and foes online so they can enter social media with confidence.
2012 DFMN Social Media Workshop and Retreat
Midwest Dairy is hosting an all expenses-paid workshop and retreat February 7-8, 2012, in Kansas City to empower a select group of dairy moms to establish or enhance their social media presence. Selected attendees will learn about the most popular social networking tools (blogs, Twitter, Facebook, online communities, etc.) and receive hands-on coaching from seasoned professionals – everything from how to create your own Facebook, Twitter or blog account to ideas for increasing friends and followers. Attendees will share a fun networking experience with other dairy moms and receive a $100 Best Buy gift card to enhance attendees’ technology capabilities. In exchange, Midwest Dairy will look to this group as part of the official voice for dairy in the Midwest region, regularly tweeting, blogging and engaging with consumer moms on dairy’s behalf.
Event attendees must be –
