Path to 60th Princess Kay Title Underway

This year the Princess Kay of the Milky Way title marks its 60th anniversary and on May 19, the 12 women vying for that title will be named.

Josh Miller, a student from Basswood Elementary School in Maple Grove (District 279), experienced a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet renowned business leader Warren Buffett at Berkshire Hathaway’s annual meeting in Omaha, Neb. today as part of GENYOUth Foundation’s AdVenture Capital grant program. Midwest Dairy Council Rewards Three Minnesota Schools with Visits from Vikings Player Kyle Rudolph for Fuel Up to Play 60

Students and staff at Palmer Lake Elementary in Brooklyn Park, Golden Hill Learning Center in Rochester and Bridgewater Elementary in Northfield are ready to show some purple pride! Because of their enthusiastic efforts in the Fuel Up to Play 60 program’s Super Bowl Breakfast Challenge, they have been awarded visits from Minnesota Vikings player and 2012 Pro Bowl MVP, Kyle Rudolph on Thursday, February 28 and Friday, March 1.

Minnesota Highlights

February 2013 Highlights

Fuel Up to Play 60 funds were awarded to 23 Minnesota schools during the January funding round, totaling $71,079. This is the final funding round for the current school year. Applications for next year are available starting in June 2013.

January 2013 Highlights

Assemblies with Viktor the Viking have been awarded to five Minnesota schools for their Fuel Up to Play 60 work.

December 2012 Highlights

At Midwest Dairy, we are preparing for the run of District Meetings in Minnesota, which many of you know as your local ADA meeting. These are a chance to hear more about your checkoff investment and ask the questions that have come to mind regarding our programs. At many of these meetings, local ADA boards will also report on their activities. And at each one, your dairy producer director will be on hand to discuss programs.
