Dairy Farmers Invite Public to "Be Our Guest" at Sawyer Brown Concert to Benefit Feeding South Dakota



Local dairy farm families invite people to enjoy a special performance by country music artist Sawyer Brown to help provide nutritious dairy foods to South Dakotans in need. Their offer? Donate $10 to Feeding South Dakota, and receive a ticket to the Sawyer Brown concert on March 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Sioux Falls Arena.

Nebraska Dairy Princess Contestants Sought

Midwest Dairy Association’s Nebraska Division is currently seeking applicants for the title of 2012 Nebraska Dairy Princess. The selection of the new princess and runner-up will be held Tuesday, March 13, during the 2012 Nebraska Dairy Convention at Divots Conference Center in Norfolk.

Iowa Governor Pledges Statewide Committment to Child Health and Wellness through Fuel Up to Play 60

Today, Iowa Governor Terry Branstad pledged his commitment to child health and wellness through Fuel Up to Play 60, an in-school health and wellness program that encourages youth to consume nutrient-rich foods and achieve 60 minutes of physical activity every day.

Fuel Up to Play 60 Schools Receive Funding for Wellness Initiatives

Midwest Dairy Council awarded $604,883 to 181 schools in Arkansas, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota and eastern Oklahoma, to support their Fuel Up to Play 60 initiatives. Fuel Up to Play 60, a free in-school wellness program, is now in more than 70,000 schools nationwide.
