All Things Dairy at the Minnesota State Fair

This year is a momentous one for Minnesota’s dairy farming families at the State Fair, as the industry celebrates 60 years of the iconic Princess Kay of the Milky Way, and features longtime favorites like the Milk Run 5K, the All-You-Can-Drink Milk Stand and the Dairy Goodness Bar.

Many people don’t put “healthy” and “Minnesota State Fair” in the same sentence, but that can’t be said of the 1,500 runners who’ll be participating in the 29th annual 5K Milk Run on Sunday morning, August 25 (7:45 a.m.; Blue Ribbon Picnic Area).

60th Princess Kay of the Milky Way to be Crowned August 21

This year, Minnesota’s dairy industry will kick off the great Minnesota Get-Together by celebrating a very special milestone: the coronation of 60th Princess Kay of the Milky Way. On Wednesday evening, August 21, reigning Princess Kay Christine Reitsma of Sauk Centre, representing Stearns County, will pass her crown on to one of 12 county dairy princesses vying for the title.
