The dairy checkoff honors America's dairy farmers and celebrates dairy's role in creating great-tasting, fun and nostalgic family dishes that evolve from generation to generation. Working in collaboration with Andrews McMeel Publishing, LLC, the Dairy Comfort Cookbook (working title) will showcase recipes that celebrate dairy's goodness.
Dairy farm families will again partner with First Bank & Trust, Hy-Vee and Lewis Drug to help provide nutritious dairy foods to South Dakotans in need. For the fourth year, dairy farmers will invite the public to "Be Our Guest" at a concert at the annual Central Plains Dairy Expo. For a $10 donation to Feeding South Dakota, people will receive a pass to the "Roots and Boots" tour concert featuring country music performers Joe Diffie, Aaron Tippin and Sammy Kershaw on March 25.
Shauna Gilles from Plainfield, Ill. and Robbie Sadoski from Mansfield, Ark. are two of seven extraordinary Fuel Up to Play 60 students who won GENYOUth Foundation’s AdVenture Capital program, which empowers youth to lead change to improve nutrition and physical activity in schools.

Young women interested in advocating for Nebraska’s dairy community are encouraged to run for the next Nebraska Dairy Princess title. The contest, sponsored by Midwest Dairy Association’s Nebraska Division, is planned for Tuesday, March 11, in conjunction with the Nebraska Dairy Convention in Norfolk.
