GENYOUth Foundation Kicks Off National Series of Learning Connecton “Town Halls” to Engage Community Leaders in Advancing School Wellness and Academic Success

GENYOUth Foundation, along with its collaborating partners, is launching a series of Town Hall meetings across the country throughout the 2013-14 school year to address child health in the school environment and the community. The Town Halls aim to accomplish three things - support better learning, reinforce schools as a focal point for action and get help for schools.
Hunger-Free Minnesota announced today that it is launching a statewide School Breakfast Challenge to increase participation in the School Breakfast Program among low-income Minnesota students. The School Breakfast Challenge will be launched with a ceremonial event held at Pillsbury Elementary School on October 9, 2013 at 7:00 a.m.
After heading back to school this fall, students across the Midwest will be asked to create their very own milk mustache poses for a chance to win Midwest Dairy Council's Fuel Up with Milk World School Milk Day Contest, open from Sept. 18 to Oct. 2, 2013.

After a busy year of leading her peers to make healthier choices, Kylie Kasprick, a Fuel Up to Play 60 Alumni Student Ambassador, will receive Brooklyn Park’s Good Citizenship Award from Mayor Jeff Lunde at the city council meeting on Monday, September 23, at 7 p.m.

MarJenna McWilliam, a 20-year-old college student from Winger, Minn., representing Polk County, was crowned the 60th Princess Kay of the Milky Way in an evening ceremony at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds August 21.
