Dairy Farmers Celebrate Feeding Our Nation during June Dairy Month

Dairy farmers take pride in their role in producing wholesome, nutritious dairy foods and in helping to feed the nation. During June Dairy Month, Midwest Dairy Association, which works on behalf of more than 9,500 dairy farm families across 10 Midwest states, has partnered with Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity, to help fight hunger.

June Dairy Month Celebrates Midwest Dairy Farm Families and the Nutritious Dairy Foods They Produce

June Dairy Month is an annual celebration that began in 1937 and serves as a time to reflect on dairy foods and the industry that makes it possible. In 2013, Midwest Dairy is celebrating the many health and taste benefits dairy foods deliver as well as the farmers who produce them. In particular, special attention is being paid to dairy’s real, fresh and natural qualities.

Dairy Farm Families Welcome PinTourists During June Dairy Month

Get moo-vin’ for June Dairy Month and virtually experience life on a Midwest dairy farm! Midwest Dairy Association, which works on behalf of more than 9,500 dairy farm families across 10 states, today launched the Dairy Farm PinTourist Contest on Pinterest giving everyone the opportunity to go beyond the dairy aisle to “see” what life is like on the farm, and the care and pride dairy farmers take in producing wholesome, nutritious dairy foods.

Finalists for 60th Princess Kay of the Milky Way Title Named

This year’s finalists for the title of Princess Kay of the Milky Way have been named. The 12 young women from dairy farm backgrounds were selected at the conclusion of a three-day event for county dairy princesses held in St. Joseph. Each of the 12 will be sculpted in butter during the 2013 Minnesota State Fair. Princess Kay is crowned each year the night before the State Fair opens.

National Dairy Council, Midwest Dairy Council and National Football League Reward Reeds Spring Middle School for Drafting Students to Lead Fuel Up to Play 60 Program

Jamaal Charles, running back for the Kansas City Chiefs, will take part in an assembly at Reeds Spring Middle School Gymnasium on Monday, May 13 at 2 p.m. to reward the school for being selected as a national winner of the Fuel Up to Play 60 Student Ambassador Draft and to recognize the students’ efforts to eat healthy and stay active.
